Our Mission

Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.

Lyman Intermediate School will work in partnership with parents and community to provide a learning environment that nurtures the social, emotional, academic, physical and life skills necessary to be a successful, productive member of society.

In pursuit of this mission, the staff at Lyman Intermediate School will:
     •   Continually research relevant information and teaching strategies.
     •   Help students to be responsible for their own learning.
     •   Emphasize personal creativity and higher orderthinking skills.
     •   Provide a safe environment.

Lyman Intermediate School encourages students to take advantage of these ways to increase their achievement:

1) Friday Remediation School

 

2) AB Try again on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students who are struggling in classes have time to meet with their teachers and receive extra instruction as well chances to retake tests and redo assignments.

 

3) LIS time each day: Teachers are available for ten minutes mid day to meet with students who need extra help.

 

4) After School Study Hall: All students are invited to stay for up to an hour after school with a teacher who will assist them as necessary.

 

5) All teachers are available before and after school. Staff is here from 7:45-4:15, and also outside those hours by appointment.
